吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士，藝術愛好者與慈善家，北京大學賽克勒考古與藝術博物館名譽館長，吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士與阿瑟·姆·賽克勒博士藝術、科學和人文基金會主席，于當?shù)貢r間2025年5月20日，因病在紐約逝世，享年84歲。

Dame Jillian Sackler, an art lover and philanthropist, Honorary Director of the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University, and President of the Dame Jillian Sackler & Dr. Arthur M. Sackler Foundation for the Arts, Sciences & Humanities, passed away in New York on the evening of May 20, 2025, due to illness, at the age of 84.

吉莉安·賽克勒，生于1940年。因其慈善貢獻，英國女王冊封她為女爵士。

吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士熱愛中華優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化。1986年9月8日，時任北京大學校長丁石孫與阿瑟·姆·賽克勒博士簽署意向書，籌備中國首座現(xiàn)代化的考古學專題教學博物館。1987年賽克勒博士去世后，吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士努力延續(xù)其慈善事業(yè)。1993年，北京大學賽克勒考古與藝術博物館正式開放。2013年，“吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士國際藝術家展覽項目”啟動，介紹具有不同背景的藝術家并展出其作品，促進文化間的相互理解，迄今共計舉辦7屆。2018年，博物館二十五周年之際，《融匯：國際藝術與文化》特展匯集了全球當代頂尖藝術家。吉莉安·賽克勒女爵士生前最后一次來華是2024年5月，她深深掛念著博物館的發(fā)展與未來。

Jillian Sackler (1940–2025) was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II for her philanthropic contributions.

Dame Jillian Sackler harbored a deep passion for China's outstanding traditional culture. On September 8, 1986, then-President of Peking University Ding Shisun and Dr. Arthur M. Sackler signed a declaration of intent to establish China's first modern archaeology-themed teaching museum. Following Dr. Sackler's death in 1987, Dame Jillian Sackler dedicated herself to continuing his philanthropic legacy. In 1993, the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University officially opened. In 2013,The Dame Jillian Sackler International Artists Exhibition Programwas launched, hosting seven exhibitions to date, showcasing artists from diverse backgrounds and fostering cross-cultural understanding. In 2018, to mark the museum's 25th anniversary, the special exhibitionIntersection: International Art & Culturefeatured leading contemporary artists worldwide. Her final visit to China in May 2024 reflected her unwavering commitment to the museum's future development.
